A PhD studentship is available for 42 months from 1/10/10 to work in the Bristol CVD diamond group. The project involves experimental measurements of the gas phase components in a microwave plasma diamond CVD reactor using both in-situ molecular-beam mass spectrometric and laser spectroscopic techniques. This project is in collaboration with Element Six Ltd. Candidates should have or expect to get a 1st or Upper 2nd-class degree in Chemistry, Physics, or Materials Science.
