The Prime Minister’s Australia Asia Awards will provide scholarships for the ‘best and brightest’ university students from Australia and Asia.
They provide the unique opportunity for postgraduates and undergraduates to undertake not only international study and research, but also internships. The Awards aim to build deep and enduring education and professional linkages between Australia and Asia. They also provide an opportunity for Australian universities and the Australian Government to work in partnership to identify and reward high calibre scholars.
The Australian Government has committed $14.9 million over four years to establish this scholarship program.
Below are comments about the benefits of these Awards from successful Prime Minister’s Award Holders from the 2010 round:
“The opportunity to immerse myself in the culture of my host country and university to a greater extent than would ever be possible without the support of this Award – even if the same amount of funding were available”
“An incredible chance to further my study in an absolute unique way, but most importantly as a gateway to many more incredible opportunities in the future”
“The opportunity to be part of a dynamic group of inspiring individuals as well as the personal growth of study and work abroad”.
